SPIRULINA BLUEBERRY SPINACH SMOOTHIE
WHAT IS SPIRULINA?
Spirulina, produced from a kind of algae, has been a superfood for centuries and was known to the Aztecs long before the Spaniards invaded Mexico. It boasts a surprisingly dense list of nutrients. It's one of the best non-animal based sources of protein, making it a good nutritional boost for vegans and others who want to add more plant-based foods to their diet. It's also quite a rich source of beta-carotene, various minerals and gamma linolenic acid, a fatty acid essential to health. It is said to be one of the most effective anti-oxidants and helps our joints stay agile and healthy.
