
Million Dollar Pastitsio
This rich and satisfying Greek pasta bake, dubbed Million Dollar Pastitsio, combines layers of pasta, meat sauce, and creamy cheese for a truly indulgent meal. Perfect for special occasions or family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2/3 pound package bucatini
- 2/3 pound ground meat
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 red onion chopped
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 2 ½ + 3/4 cups canned chopped tomatoes
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 cup anthotyro or ricotta cheese
- 1 cup crumbled Greek feta
- 2 cups shredded kasseri cheese
- 2/3 cup haloumi
Instructions

Cook the ground meat in a pan with olive oil until browned. Add onion and garlic, then stir in most of the canned tomatoes. Simmer until thickened.

Cook pasta according to package directions. Mix with butter and some of the canned tomatoes.

Combine cream cheese, yogurt, feta, and anthotyro for the cheese layer.

Assemble the dish by layering pasta, cheese mixture, and meat sauce in a baking dish. Top with kasseri and haloumi cheese. Bake at 350°F for 30-40 minutes.
