Mastihatini (Greek Mastiha Liqueur and Sour Cherry Cocktail)
Want a great cocktail with a Greek twist? This is it and I owe its invention to a good friend, Ilya Malahias, with whom I’ve sipped many a quaff while watching the sun slip into the sea on Ikaria.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ shots Mastiha liqueur
- 2 tablespoons Vyssino syrup
- 1 cup crushed Ice
- Seltzer
- Lemon or orange slices for garnish
Instructions
-
Place the liqueur, syrup and crushed ice in a shaker and shake vigorously. Strain into a flute or other glass and add enough seltzer to come up to just below the lip of the glass. Garnish with Vyssino or orange or lemon slices and/or fresh mint.
