I am so thrilled and honored. IKARIA, my latest book, has been nominated for three awards this year: It’s a nominee for the “Books for a Better Life Award,” by the MS Foundation; it’s been long-listed on the Art of Eating Book of the Year award; and, most recently, IKARIA is up for an IACP award in the International Category.
I think this is a sign. People are really interested in living better, simpler lives and learning to eat a more plant-based diet, like those 103 year old Ikarians who flourished on a diet of weeds and mushrooms in the early part of their lives, when the island experienced extreme poverty and hardship.
